U.S. Department of Labor Initiative
In 1966 the U.S. Department of Labor established The Federal Bonding Program to provide Fidelity Bonds that guarantee honesty for "at-risk", hard-to-place job seekers.
This is a service offered by the Georgia Department of Corrections. Through our offender search you may find adult offenders by name, ID number, age, facility name, sentence status, conviction county, or primary offense.
The Office of the Ombudsman acts as a bridge between concerned citizens and the Georgia Department of Corrections by gathering information that potentially uncovers and reduces problems within the corrections system thus ensuring the rights and safety of offenders are protected.
This handbook does not replace the official Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Department of Corrections. Information from the Rules and Regulations of the Department has been included to help you understand what is required of you, but this information is to be used in conjunction with the Rules and Regulations. In any case, where there is a conflict between information in the Rules and Regulations and information in this handbook, the Rules and Regulations are to be followed.

Telephone System - Securus Technologies
GDC's current contractor for offender telephone system services is Securus Technologies. All offender collect calls from GDC facilities will be initiated and billed by the Securus system.
Calling Rates - GDC has proactively chosen to decrease calling rates at its Correctional Facilities by eliminating surcharges on in-state calling and implementing per-minute calling rates lower than those mandated by the Georgia Public Service Commission and the Federal Communications Commission.
