Contraband Arrests at GDC Facilities
**MORE THAN 642 CIVILIANS AND 125 STAFF MEMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TO DATE FOR ATTEMPTING TO INTRODUCE CONTRABAND INTO GDC FACILITIES.**
1) On September 19, 2013 at Rogers State Prison, GDC Investigators and Tattnall County Sheriff's Deputies conducted an investigative stop on a brown Pontiac Bonneville. Three balls of tobacco wrapped in black electrical tape and one marijuana cigarette were found. Civilians Chenelle Ross and Darrell Mims admitted that they intended to drop the contraband off at the facility for an inmate. Civilians Ross and Mims were arrested by the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office.
The Department of Corrections is committed to identifying and pursuing prosecution of those persons who attempt to introduce contraband into state facilities.
