Court Ordered Execution for Kelly Gissendaner Postponed

FORSYTH, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) has announced that the court ordered execution of Kelly Renee Gissendaner scheduled for 7:00pm tonight, February 25, 2015, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, has been postponed. The rescheduled date has been set for 7:00pm on Monday, March 2, 2015.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners and over 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
