New Deputy Director of Human Resources Named - Cliff Hogan Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Cliff Hogan as Deputy Director of Corrections Human Resources Management effective May 16, 2016. As Deputy Director, Hogan will supervise 40 positions and is responsible for personnel program management and development statewide in areas of Workforce Analysis, Policy and Compliance, Employment Services and Personnel Operations.

“Cliff’s drive to succeed and determination for continued growth will greatly benefit the Corrections Human Resources Management team,” said Commissioner Bryson. “In his eight years with the Department, he has truly excelled in every role he has held and we are confident he will excel in his new role as Deputy Director.”

Hogan began his career with GDC in 2008 as a Personnel Data Specialist in the Human Resources Personnel Data/Analytics Unit within the Corrections Human Resources Management department.  In 2011, he was promoted to Personnel Data Systems Manager within the same unit, where he supervised a team specializing in criminal history, records management, and personnel data/analytics. Hogan was then placed on Development Assignment in 2013, as a Data Analyst with the Planning and Strategic Management department. Within this unit, he developed reports for executive and legislative level presentations, including research for the Office of Governor Nathan Deal. In 2014, this assignment became permanent and is where Hogan currently serves.

Hogan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia. During his time with the department, he has received certifications in Basic Management Training, Corrections Leadership Institute, and Executive Basic Probation and Parole Officer Training. He has also received awards for Basic Management Training Highest Academic Average, Top Gun and Employee of the Quarter.
