FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is investigating the death of an inmate at Phillips State Prison in Buford, Ga, as an apparent suicide.

At 2:10 p.m. on October 29, a Correctional Officer found inmate Demitri Carter (GDC #1001507614) unresponsive in his cell.
