Inmate Death Under Investigation
March 16, 2018
FORSYTH, Ga. – Special Agents with the Georgia Department of Corrections’ (GDC) Office of Professional Standards are conducting an investigation on the death of inmate Benjamin Snyder (GDC #1256902), as a suspected homicide.
Agents have reason to believe that inmate Snyder died as a result of injuries sustained during an altercation involving another inmate. Inmate Snyder was pronounced dead at Valdosta State Prison at 10:04am on March 16 by Lowndes County Coroner.
Snyder was sentenced in 2013, in Richmond County, for Terroristic Threats.
