STATE OF GEORGIA
FORSYTH, Ga. – The execution of condemned murderer Daniel Anthony Lucas scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson was carried out on April 27, at 9:54 p.m. in accordance with state law. Lucas accepted a final prayer and recorded a final statement.
Lucas was sentenced to death in 1999 for the murders of Bryan, Kristin, and Steven Moss.
There have been 64 men and one woman executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976. Lucas was the 42nd inmate put to death by lethal injection. There are presently 63 men on death row in Georgia.
