New Assistant Superintendent at Truetlen Probation Detention Center
Brad Metz Promoted

 

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Brad Metz to Assistant Superintendent at Truetlen Probation Detention Center (PDC) effective February 1, 2023. As Assistant Superintendent, Metz will be responsible for assisting the Superintendent with the daily operations of the facility, overseeing staff, and supervising approximately 159 male detainees.

"Metz’s experience and expertise have proven to be an asset to the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident he will continue to uphold our mission at Truetlen PDC."

Metz began his career with the GDC in 1997 as a Counselor at Wilcox SP and in 2005 he was promoted to Chief Counselor at the same facility. After a brief separation from the department, Metz returned as a GED instructor at Dooly SP.  In 2013, he was promoted to Chief Counselor at Pulaski SP, and in 2015 he joined the Department of Community Supervision as a Parole/Probation Officer. In 2021, he returned to the GDC as Counselor at Wilcox SP and was promoted to Chief Counselor in 2022 at Dodge SP, where he currently serves. 

Metz received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern College. His departmental training consists of Basic Counselor Training, Basic Probation Officer Training, Management I, II, and III, and Supervision I, II, and III.
