New Assistant Superintendent at Women’s Probation Detention Center

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Stephanie Love to Assistant Superintendent at Women's Probation Detention Center (PDC) effective March 16, 2023. As Assistant Superintendent, Love will be responsible for assisting the Superintendent with the daily operations of the facility, overseeing staff, and supervising approximately 150 female detainees.

"Love has been a dedicated and positive leader since beginning her career 23 years ago," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident her correctional knowledge and experience will benefit the staff and detainees at Women's PDC."

Love began her career with the GDC in 2000 as a Correctional Officer at Georgia State Prison (SP). She then transferred to Rogers SP, and during her tenure, she was promoted to Sergeant and Lieutenant. In 2019, she was promoted to Captain at Coastal SP, and in 2020 she was promoted to Unit Manager, where she currently serves. 

Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Chief of Security Training, Professional Management Program through Columbus State University, Management I, II, and III and Supervision I, II, and III. Love also served in the Army National Guard from 2000 until her retirement in 2021.
