Bryan Wilson Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Bryan Wilson, Attorney in Legal Services, to Deputy General Counsel, effective August 16th. As the Deputy General Counsel, Wilson will be assist in leading the GDC’s in-house team of attorneys, and providing guidance to agency executives regarding legal, regulatory, and legislative issues impacting Departmental operation.  He will also serve as a liaison with the Attorney General’s office on agency litigation matters.

“Bryan is a dedicated member of GDC’s legal team, and we have full confidence that his knowledge and experience will serve the agency well as he takes on an expanded role,” said Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier.

Wilson began his career with the GDC in 2013 as an Attorney 1 in Legal Services. In November of 2016, he was promoted to Attorney 3. Retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2013, Bryan served in the United States Air Force prior to attending law school.

Wilson holds an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies from the Community College of the Air Force. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature and a Juris Doctor from Mercer University. He has completed Basic Correctional Training, POST IT Training, and is a member of the inaugural class of Leadership GDC.
