New Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Macon State Prison

Curtis Jeffries Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Curtis Jeffries to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Macon State Prison (SP), effective April 16, 2023. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Jeffries will supervise educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of male offenders at the facility.

"Jeffries has displayed exceptional leadership qualities in each position he has held with the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “We are confident that his correctional experience will benefit the staff and offenders at Macon SP."

Jeffries began his career with the Department in 2013 as a Correctional Officer at Macon SP. During his tenure there, he was promoted to Behavioral Health Specialist I, II, and III. In 2021, he was promoted to Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisor, where he currently serves.

Jeffries holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University. His departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Initial Correctional Counselor Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Management I, II, and III, and Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment Academy.
