Real Time, Reel Life Video Series showcases GDC units and programs

FORSYTH, Ga. – Continuing our mission to operate secure and safe facilities, the Georgia Department of Corrections is highlighting GDC operations, offender education and training programs across the state in our Real Time, Reel Life video series.  These brief videos provide details about offender programs and showcase the experiences of participants in these programs.

New videos are released regularly, and are available to view through the GDC YouTube Channel at GACorrections.  In this month’s video we take a look at the officers, both four and two-legged who are part of the GDC K-9 Unit. These dedicated officers search facilities and individuals for contraband, but their efforts aren't limited to prison grounds. They also provide vital K-9 support to local law enforcement and emergency services throughout the state. The continual training they undergo makes them a formidable force in the fight against illegal contraband.
