Contraband Arrests and Multiple Facilities
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,893 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On May 15 at Washington State Prison, a civilian was spotted throwing a bag of unknown contraband onto facility grounds. Demonica Harris was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On May 15 at Johnson State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted near the facility. A search of the vehicle found bundles of unknown contraband. Civilians Princess Jackson, Varrenzo Bradford and Tyler Jackson were arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail.
