Contraband Arrests at Lee State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,419 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On July 6 at Lee State Prison, a car was pulled over near the facility by Lee County Sheriff's Office. A search of the vehicle found tobacco, cellphones, phone chargers, and handguns. Kenn Releford, Travisia Walker, Patricia Gary, and Devonte Hollingshed were arrested by Lee county Sheriff's Office and transported to Lee County Jail.
