Contraband Arrests at Macon State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,641 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On February 6 at Macon State Prison, a person was spotted near the facility. A search found civilian Kenneth Stephens with a bag of unknown contraband, and civilian Tangie Burnett was located by the vehicle. Both Stephens and Burnett were arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail.
