Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
On December 16 at Rogers State Prison, a Tattnall County Sheriff Deputy stopped probationer Marcus Hutchins while patrolling the area near the facility. After Hutchins consented to a search, the deputy discovered 5 packs of tobacco, 2 unopened bundles of suspected marijuana, 1 pack of suspected methamphetamine and 5 loose pills. Hutchins was arrested by the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 16 at Calhoun State Prison, security staff was alerted to a vehicle belonging to civilian Lavonica Bailey while searching the facility parking lot. After consenting to a search of her vehicle, security staff discovered .57 grams of marijuana. Bailey was arrested by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deprtment
On December 12 at Ware State Prison, during a search security staff discovered 63.0 grams of marijuana. Correctional Officers Brittany Williams and Taneshia Rainge admitted to brining in the contraband and were arrested by the Ware County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 11 at Hays State Prison, teacher Andrew Lee admitted to brining tobacco into the facility and was arrested by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.
